Perspective on the Trucker Convoy from a Canadian (part 2/2)
I was at ground zero yesterday. I ventured out of my country oasis into the city to experience the vibe for myself.
This is an email I shared about the experience with a few friends:
“Well, I was downtown today. WowWowWowWow...!!!!! There are few words expansive enough to describe the vibe. It was upbeat, compassionate, celebratory, fun, and filled with hugs, smiles, gentle, loving eye contact, and so much love. Puts the tyranny loving, Woodstock-era Canadians like Joni Mitchell and Neil Young to shame. In fact, Woodstock was likely nothing compared to this. I brought my massive “Love has already won” banner and people LOVED it! Tons of people taking videos, photos, giving hugs, and humongous smiles. One woman saw it from a distance and specifically came over to me and my friend, Julie (who was helping me carry it) with tears in her eyes and hugged us both for a very long time. It’s like we just gave her the confirmation she needed to finally exhale. I’ve never, ever experienced the human Spirit like this before. Defies words.
The police presence was strong, and they were all very accommodating despite the thousands and thousands of people all over the downtown core. In fact, I noticed one officer wiping tears from his eyes when Julie and I walked past him with our banner. Just incredible.
By the way, the city is truly occupied. And occupied in the most gorgeous way. Tents and huts set up offering free food to everyone. Sections of the street set up for makeshift fire pits so people can warm themselves. Jumping tents and craft tents for kids to express themselves. Street hockey, block parties with dj’s playing awesome music. Not a spec of garbage anywhere either. People giving inspiring speeches, and blaring horns everywhere. The sweet sounds of freedom!
When I think of MSM, the politicians, corporations, big pharma, the fearful, hateful compliant, who have ensured the durability of this massive lie for far too long, it all feels so old, decrepit, and quite frankly, dead. And I guess it is dead. After all, that’s what fear is. It certainly isn’t life-affirming, that’s for sure. The whole crumbling narrative of tyranny seems even more pathetic and desperate after what I experienced today.
I keep thinking of Gandhi’s quote, “First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.” They’re fighting now, but it seems that the more desperate they become, the more they tighten the noose around their own necks. Even the few mask-wearing haters today were either ignored, or people just sent them love. I actually felt compassion for them because I could feel the constriction of their terror. What a horrible way to live. They’re now being forced to accept this massive shift or die from their own self-oppression. That’s the ultimatum that this movement has created.
I don’t care about anything anymore. Today was a testament to the human Spirit and I can tell you this, it is not only alive and well, it’s thriving!”
